Part 4 of each chapter emphasizes writing skills, with a variety of exercises and interactive writing activities. Additional Highlights "Picture Clues" - a prereading/prediction exercise based on illustrations. "Can You Figure it Out?" - questions that focus on the cultural point of the chapter and bring students closer to solving the mystery. Discussion questions in Part 3 relate the chapter's fictional reading back to the students' lives and offer information that can help clarify puzzling cultural information about life in North America.
